Why we draw a line at all
Mineola Market is not a national marketplace with a local look. It exists so that people within a short drive of Mineola can buy and sell with each other — and that only works if both people can actually get to the item. A listing 200 miles away is a listing nobody collects.
So we picked a radius instead of a state: about 35 miles out from Mineola. Inside it, everything on the site is something you could reasonably drive to and back in a morning. Outside it, a town is not part of Mineola Market — not because the town matters less, but because “local” stops being true once the drive is longer than the deal is worth.
What local buys you
- Pickup stays close. Every seller is within the radius, so a purchase is a short drive, not a shipment.
- You know the ground. The towns here share schools, roads and a newspaper — the things people actually reference when they arrange a meet.
- Fewer strangers. A buyer and seller from neighbouring towns have a real chance of a shared connection. That is the trust a local market runs on.
- No shipping, no fees. Cash and a hand-off. Mineola Market does not process payments.
The towns in our area
Grouped by county, nearest first, with the straight-line distance from Mineola. A town inside roughly 35 miles is covered; one town sits just past the line and is kept because it functions as local in practice.
What this means for buyers and sellers
If you are buying, everything you see is within range — there is no out-of-area stock to filter out. If you are selling, your item is shown to people who can actually come and get it, which is why local listings sell faster than a listing posted to a statewide board.
If your town is not on this page, it sits outside the radius. You are still welcome to browse, but the market is built around the towns above.
